Congratulations to Iman and Ferdous for winning at 2018 This is Research Symposium! Iman won the 1st Place in Poster Presentations under Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. The title for his presentation is “Personalized in vitro 3D colorectal cancer model using patient-derived xenografts”. Ferdous won the College and School Awards for College of Engineering for her poster titled “A novel microfluidic device for encapsulation of human induced pluripotent stem cells for production of cardiac spheroids”. AU Research student symposium awards x3

Congratulations to lab members Morgan Ellis, Ferdous Finklea, and Jennifer Kaczmarek! Morgan won first place for her poster presentation in the Graduate Scholars Symposium.  Ferdous won third place for her oral presentation in the Graduate Scholars Symposium.  Jennifer won first place for her oral presentation in the Undergraduate Symposium.

Ferdous Finklea and Jennifer Kaczmarek received NSF graduate fellowship

Ferdous Finklea was awarded the National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship. The title of her research is “Manufacturing of hiPSC-Derived Cardiomyocytes for Drug Testing and Regenerative Medicine “.

Jennifer Kaczmarek was also awarded the National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship. The title of her research is “Direct Encapsulation and Differentiation of Human Induced Pluripotent Stem Cells in Peptide Modified Poly(ethylene) Glycol”.
